The track winds up the hill
amidst wild apple trees and vines
right to the top of the last knoll:
the austere hamlet
among the cypress trees
rests atop the hill
dressed in olive trees
and yellow bushes.
I feel myself partaking
of the labour of the ancient people
of this gentle land
and I would my work completed
here, in Montebenichi.

I want to thank you for your gracious hospitality during our stay in September. You treated us like guests at your home and the warm hospitality allowed us to mingle and enjoy the company of the other guests at the castelletto. Your cocktail hour allowed us to meet wonderful new people and enjoy the stories of Franco. You and your staff also gave us great directions and plans for evening meals which never dissapointed.

We thanked Barbara and Joe for the recommendation, and look forward to our next stay in Montebenichi.
