The track winds up the hill
amidst wild apple trees and vines
right to the top of the last knoll:
the austere hamlet
among the cypress trees
rests atop the hill
dressed in olive trees
and yellow bushes.
I feel myself partaking
of the labour of the ancient people
of this gentle land
and I would my work completed
here, in Montebenichi.

Once again Marco, we have been delighted by our short stay at your unique Castelletto. Thank you for your hospitality. Both you and Montebenichi seem to improve with age, like a good wine - and you understand how we English enjoy a good wine!
