The track winds up the hill
amidst wild apple trees and vines
right to the top of the last knoll:
the austere hamlet
among the cypress trees
rests atop the hill
dressed in olive trees
and yellow bushes.
I feel myself partaking
of the labour of the ancient people
of this gentle land
and I would my work completed
here, in Montebenichi.

We found Castelletto Montebenichi by accident whilst searching the internet for somewhere to stay near Siena and we found a gem ! We look forward to coming back again sometime
